With a name like Asia you'd think that the group would be prog queens and kings - but it's actually a fairly straightforward rock band. The group was formed as a four-piece and released two albums in 1979, the self-titled debut album and 1980's Armed to the Teeth. However, even though the group have a wide range of musical backgrounds their biggest breakthrough was in 1982 with Toto IV.
The album was a major blockbuster, but not without its own set of issues. Record companies placed the band on the place with the directive "give us an album that's a smash or we'll sack you" and the pressure was on to give it. Toto was able to achieve this with the help from the hit song "Africa."

After Toto IV the band's fortunes started to plummet. David Hungate left to concentrate on his solo career, and the band was through numerous drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball left the band after drug charges. The band continued to play with Michael Porcaro, Steve Lukather and Michael Porcaro.
Despite the chaos, Toto forged ahead and released Isolation that was not as successful as IV. The band was able to release an album that topped the charts, Kingdom of Desire, in 1992. This album marked Toto's final lineup and the debut of Simon Phillips, a new singer.

Line-up
The band's third album, Turn Back, marked the return to the traditional sextet format of previous albums. 먹튀검증 was a more powerful, constant effort with a harder edge than Hydra. The edgier sound of Turn Back reflected the development of the group. Bobby Kimball's growing ability to play was evident in the vocal delivery of Joseph Williams, who had become more confident and mature. David Paich's work was sharper, more intricate, and less derivative than on previous efforts.
After touring to promote the album, the band recorded a live show in Amsterdam that was released as a two-CD set titled Falling In Between Live on Eagle Records. The group released a new studio album a few months after and then embarked on a world tour to help promote it. During this time keyboardist Greg Phillinganes replaced Paich and bassist David Hungate quit the group to spend time with his family.

By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The band featured a special guest appearance from singer Michael McDonald and a backing vocalist named Mabvuto Carver.
